I found an article today on DSLR footage at the Vimeo Video School Blog. DSLR expert, Philip Bloom has created a new video demonstrating how to prepare your editing workflow with free software. This method is an alternative to using complicated methods within FCP. I've posted the video below. The link to their blog has a breakdown of the steps that Philip uses.

This tutorial is for Final Cut Studio 2 users. If you are using a MAC and do not have Final Cut Pro installed the codecs will not be available to you. Use something equivalent like DVCPROHd.

Short Film from Rooftop Films

I encourage you guys to see this film "Once It Started It Could Not Have Ended Otherwise".
http://vimeo.com/24226407
This film was partially funded by Rooftop Films. It's a simple story that is composed of high school photographs that were manipulated and animated. Text tells the story of an event that happened at a high school in the 1970's that influences the senior class to commit insane acts at the school. Rooftop is hosting the film on their Vimeo site for a limited time. Try to jump on and see. Get inspired to get creative with Photoshop and After Effects!

Tis the season! - Rooftop Films are in full swing with the warm weather upon us. Check out the Calendar for film screenings around Brooklyn and Manhattan! http://rooftopfilms.com/2011/schedule/
